CEU courses

Heritage Medical Equipment offers live webinars that are approved for ABC and BOC continuing education credits. These courses are free to our Credentialed Members. These are "live" presentations. Just fill out the form below and we'll see you on-line.

Course 1 - Orthotic Use in Posterior Tibial Tendon Dysfunction

Posterior tibial tendon dysfunction (PTTD) is one of the most common problems of the foot and ankle. It occurs when the posterior tibial tendon becomes inflamed or torn. As a result, the tendon may not be able to provide stability and support for the arch of the foot, resulting in flatfoot. Most patients can be treated without surgery using orthotics and braces. This presentation analyzes recent scientific studies surrounding the use of orthotics as treatment options for posterior tibial tendon dysfunction. It also compares three braces commonly used to treat PTTD.

This webinar is worth 1.5 ABC / BOC approved CEU's. This is not a canned presentation. You will be learning from a "live" person, not listening to a recording.

Course 2 - Prefabricated Back Braces

CMS has instituted rules and regulations surrounding reimbursement in regards to pre-fabricated back braces. Which lumbar supports need PDAC letters? What is a back brace's "Reasonable Useful Life"? Which manufacturers are safe to use? Which L-code: L-0627, L-0631, L-0637, L-0639?

This webinar is worth 1.5 ABC / BOC approved CEU's. This is not a canned presentation. You will be learning from a "live" person, not listening to a recording.

Course 3 - Bracing the Arthritic Knee: Understanding the Academy of Orthopedic Surgeon's Guideline and Position Statement.

The American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons released treatment guidelines for knee osteoarthritis. The AAOS stated in this guideline that they cannot recommend for or against bracing the arthritic knee. Previously, the AAOS released a position statement endorsing valgus knee bracing. They stated, "that some braces provide significant pain relief". This program will explain the discrepancy between the two opinions and offer practitioners evidence-based tools to defend the use of knee bracing in the treatment of osteoarthritis. The audience will benefit from this program because they will learn how to dissect the studies surrounding the position statements and learn how to overcome the objections that knee braces don't work. This is crucial for practitioners if they have to defend the use of orthotics to any orthopedic surgeon or physician that treats OA.

This webinar is worth 1.5 ABC / BOC approved CEU's. This is not a canned presentation. You will be learning from a "live" person, not listening to a recording.

Course 4 - Transform Your Practice By Providing Clinical Education

Centers of Influence (COI) can be one of the most effective sources of new clients. To survive - and prosper - in today's healthcare arena, O&P Facilities will need to develop a prosthetic marketing strategy that provides ongoing access to these coveted groups. One such strategy is a clinical education program. Practitioners will learn how to develop a series of continuing education programs that provide value and continuing education credits to other professionals while at the same time highlighting the practitioner's expertise.

Students will be taught the benefits and value of consistently in-servicing their referral sources. They will learn how to establish an ongoing educational platform. In addition, a case study of a Prosthetic Facility in Ohio will be examined that has grown their business over 24% in one year utilizing a similar system.

This webinar is worth 1.5 ABC / BOC approved CEU's. This is not a canned presentation. You will be learning from a "live" person, not listening to a recording.
